Frequently Asked Questions - Training
Isn't Photoshop cheating? A good photographer doesn't need it.
In a way, yes. Photoshop can be used to make bad photos look acceptable, and make bad photographers look competent.
However, even with the most skilled enhancement, a poor photo can never be made brilliant. For best results, a photographer must achieve perfect focus, exposure, white balance, etc in the camera.
But Photoshop's powers lie in its amazing creativity. Once you've mastered the basics, you'll enter a mind-blowing world of digital effects that darkroom photographers could only dream of.
I have a second-hand copy of Photoshop, which is a few versions old. Is that ok?
Yes, that's fine. The training is relevant for every version of Photoshop from 6.0 onwards.
I have Adobe Photoshop Elements. Do your training modules cover that?
Yes. The basic principles of Image Enhancement are applicable to both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements.
I'd like to learn about something that isn't mentioned in your modules. Can you help?
Yes, of course. We can spend time together learning about anything you want.
